Russia’s revenue from exporting agricultural products to EAEU reaches record $9 bln in 2025

Russia’s revenue from agricultural exports to the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) reached a record $9 billion in 2025, highlighting the growing role of regional markets in the country’s agri-trade strategy, according to data from the Russian agro-export sector.

The milestone reflects a steady increase in shipments of food and agricultural commodities from Russia to its EAEU partners—Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia and Kyrgyzstan. Earlier figures showed that exports during the first nine months of 2025 had already reached $6.2 billion, up 17% year-on-year, indicating strong demand within the regional bloc.

Belarus and Kazakhstan accounted for the largest share of Russian agricultural exports within the union. Belarus imported significant volumes of pork, sunflower oil, rapeseed seeds and confectionery products, while Kazakhstan purchased sugar, chocolate, sunflower oil and processed meat products.

Other EAEU members also increased purchases. Kyrgyzstan imported wheat, poultry meat, sunflower oil and confectionery items, while Armenia sourced wheat, vegetable oils and meat products from Russia.

Analysts attribute the record export revenue to expanding intra-regional trade, improved logistics within the customs union and Russia’s efforts to redirect food exports toward friendly markets amid Western sanctions. The EAEU’s unified trade framework has also reduced tariffs and simplified customs procedures, helping agricultural shipments grow more rapidly.

Agricultural trade has become an important component of Russia’s non-energy export diversification strategy. With stable demand from neighboring countries and continued growth in food processing industries, officials expect agricultural exports to the EAEU to remain a key driver of Russia’s agri-export expansion in the coming years.
