Rajasthan Government Suspends HPM Chemicals License Over Crop Damage Concerns.

Rajasthan Government Suspends HPM Chemicals License

The Government of Rajasthan has taken decisive action against HPM Chemicals & Fertilisers Ltd., suspending its manufacturing license after serious concerns were raised about one of its products allegedly causing damage to soybean crops.

The suspension was ordered by the Commissionerate of Agriculture in Jaipur, following a report from the Directorate of Plant Protection, Quarantine & Storage (DPPQS), a central government body. The product in question—Chlorimuron Ethyl 25% WP (Batch No. KE-04)—was found to be misbranded after testing, and linked to crop damage across several districts in Madhya Pradesh.

In response, the agriculture department has suspended three manufacturing licenses (L-38, L-120, and L-210) for HPM’s units located in Khushkheda (Alwar) and Kotputli-Behror. FIRs have also been filed against the company under Sections 17 and 18 of the Insecticides Act, 1968.

The company has been instructed to immediately stop the production, sale, and distribution of all insecticide products from its Rajasthan facilities. This suspension will remain in effect while a full investigation is carried out.
