Jain Irrigation Systems Ltd. Receives “Smart Banana Farm-Tech Promotion Award” from ICAR–NRCB

Recently, the Jain Irrigation Systems Ltd. (JISL), an Indian Drip and Sprinkler Irrigation enovator, has been honoured with the “Smart Banana Farm-Tech Promotion Award” by the ICAR–National Research Centre for Banana (NRCB) during its 32nd Foundation Day and Kisan Mela celebrations.

Jain Irrigation System has made significant contributions to the implementation of irrigation systems, particularly in Mass Manana cultivation.

This recognition celebrates Jain Irrigation’s unwavering commitment to transforming banana farming through cutting-edge technology and sustainable practices.

For decades, the company has quietly led a green revolution in banana cultivation—empowering farmers with high-quality tissue culture plants, precision drip irrigation, fertigation systems, and smart digital tools like IoT-based monitoring and mobile-enabled irrigation management.

The award from NRCB, a premier institution dedicated to banana research since its founding in 1993, acknowledges Jain Irrigation’s role in reshaping the banana economy—not just in India, but globally. NRCB’s mission to boost banana productivity through innovation aligns perfectly with Jain’s vision of farmer-first technology.

Thanks to these efforts, banana farming has become more productive, resource-efficient, and profitable. In 2024–25 alone, Indian farmers exported over 759,760 metric tons of bananas—nearly 36,500 containers—with Jain’s technologies playing a pivotal role in this success. Today, banana plants grown using Jain’s solutions are recognised in international markets, helping position India as a reliable global exporter.

At the heart of this transformation is the Jain Hi-Tech Plant Factory in Jalgaon—the world’s largest and most advanced tissue culture facility. Producing over 150 million banana plants annually, this state-of-the-art factory is the backbone of sustainable banana farming across India and beyond.

Dr. Selvarajan, Director of NRCB, praised Jain Irrigation’s contributions, saying:
