ICAR Has Started Counselling for UG Agriculture Courses For AY 2025-26

ICAR has started online counselling for 2025-26 undergraduate agriculture courses. The results of the CUET-UG [Common University Entrance Testย – Under Graduate] programme scores for admissions to 13 programs were declared on 4th July, 2025.

Successful candidates who have appeared in the CUET-UG 2025 exam and have higher ranks are allowed to be called for agriculture programmes out of 13 agriculture and/or other allied subjects in ICAR-affiliated degree programmes under ICAR All India Quota (AIQ).

The students are taking the ICAR’s admission process as it will cover all the country’s agricultural universities, including all state agriculture universities. One entrance will open the All India door for admission into the newly established agricultural universities and all the courses offered within them.

Therefore, the Common University Entrance Test-Undergraduate (CUET-UG) 2025 is often the most obvious choice for students who aspire to achieve an all-India recognition.

The one ICAR score is enough for admission to various four-year undergraduate courses in agriculture and allied sciences, including B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture, B.Sc. (Hons.) Horticulture, B.F.Sc. Fisheries, B.Sc. (Hons.) in Agribusiness Management, and B.Tech. courses in Agricultural Engineering, Dairy Technology, Food Technology, and Biotechnology. It does not cover the veterinary courses in all central and state universities. The students need to appear and qualify for the separate entrance.

You can visit the ICAR Portal for updated information on academic sessions, entrances, upcoming dates, and results.

The Online portal for Online counselling at the ICAR has opened from 2nd September and will remain open until 8th September for registration.

The eligible candidates who secure a higher ICAR rank will be allowed to choose their suitable course and preferred university. Additionally, students must pay the counselling fees and some portion of university admission fees online.

The admission through online counselling has already been delayed by two months, which gives some anxiety to students who ranked higher and dream of admission through ICAR. All those who have taken admission through the other state label entrances have already been two months ahead.

Also, some faculties have reported that those who were two months late in admission have shortened their classroom and practical classes because the two-month gap is huge, and the universities and the academic staff are not able to fill this two-month gap between two admissions. Classes and practical sessions for students who will be newcomers will be adjusted with the existing students who have already taken admission in the same academic year.
